Killeen, Texas – The Tiger men's golf team brought home the team and individual championships at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX) Fall Invitational.
Trinity posted a total score of 589 (292-297) at the two-day event, and was the only team in the tournament to shoot under 300 during the second round of action.
The Tigers last won a team title at the Trinity-hosted Alamo City Classic in October of last year.
After trailing by two strokes after day one of the tournament, Trinity won by nine strokes over Texas Lutheran University.
First-year Dawson Dally shot 70-74 (144) for his first individual victory with the Tigers, winning the event by two strokes over the nearest competitors. It marks Trinity's first individual winner since 2013.
Dally also tied for the tournament lead with nine birdies in two days, as well as a 2-over total score on Par 4 holes.
Peyton Bartee tied for sixth with his total score of 147 (74-73) over the past two days, tying for third among all players with his 1-under total for Par 3 scoring. He also tied for third in the tournament with his eight birdies.
Max Mitchell joined his teammates with a top-10 finish after shooting 72-77 (149) for the week. Mitchell nabbed seven birdies, and tied for second in the tournament with his 4-under total in Par 5 scoring.
Tucker Norris was tied for 20th place individually with a score of 153 (80-73), while Corbin Cormier was tied for 34th with a total score of 157 (76-81). Norris also tied for the tournament lead with his 2-under score on Par 3 holes.
Trinity will host its annual Alamo City Classic Tournament October 16-17 at the Quarry Golf Club. Trinity won last year's event, which is the only home tournament of the year for the Tigers.
