Stew Krisch is the “unofficial dean of Trinity’s coaching staff” as he is in his 20th overall season as a Tiger coach. His assignment will once again be to coach the running backs. Coach Krisch returned to Trinity in 2012 as the quarterbacks coach.
Coach Krisch has mentored three All-America quarterbacks - including two at Trinity - and numerous all-conference quarterbacks. He served as Trinity’s offensive coordinator for 12 seasons, from 1996-1999, and 2002-2009. During the time period, the Tiger offense set a number of school and conference records.
He was the quarterbacks coach at Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) from 2000-2001. Prior to his arrival on the Trinity campus, Coach Krisch was the offensive coordinator at West Texas A&M University for four seasons. The Buffaloes set 50 school records and 12 NCAA marks. He also coached at Midwestern State (TX) University, Southern Methodist (TX) University, and A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, Texas.
A native of San Antonio, Coach Krisch graduated from Marshall High School in 1980. He played football for Texas A&M University, and was a member of the Corps of Cadets. Coach Krisch earned his bachelor’s degree in 1984 at Texas A&M, a master’s in 1986, and was a graduate assistant in the Department of Athletics. .
Coach Krisch and his wife, Rhonda, have one daughter, along with a grandson and granddaughter.
