Wade Lytal and Adam McGuire Appointed Trinity Football Coaches

San Antonio - Trinity Head Football Coach Jerheme Urban announces the appointment of Wade Lytal and Adam McGuire to the Tigers full-time coaching staff.

Coach Lytal, a former Trinity standout, is the team's new offensive coordinator, offensive line coach, and academic success coordinator. Coach McGuire will coach the Tiger defensive backs and special teams.

A 2009 Trinity graduate, Coach Lytal was an offensive guard and tackle for the Tigers from 2005-2008. He received All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) First Team honors his final two seasons. Coach Lytal also earned D3football.com All-South Region Third Team kudos in 2007 and Second Team distinction in 2008. Coach Lytal was a student assistant coach for Trinity's offensive line in 2009 while finishing his degree. He served as an assistant coach for the O-Line during the 2010 season while earning a master's degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Most recently, Coach Lytal was the O-Line coach, football video coordinator, and assistant track & field coach at his high school alma mater, Houston (TX) Memorial High School. He held the positions from 2015 until coming on board at Trinity. Prior to his position at Memorial, Coach Lytal was an assistant football coach at Illinois College from 2011-2015. He was the offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, O-Line coach, and men's tennis coach at the NCAA Division III institution.

   

Coach McGuire was a part-time Trinity coach last season and has now been hired on full-time status. He was a four-year letterman at Texas Lutheran University from 2011-2014 and graduated in 2015. The safety/outside linebacker was a team captain and two-year starter for the Bulldogs. He earned All-SCAC honors during 2014 and 2015 seasons and led TLU in interceptions in 2013 and 2014.

He gained extensive coaching experience at the Jerheme Urban Football Camp. Coach McGuire started in 2015 as the assistant defensive backs and wide receivers coach and served in the position for two years.

      

The Tigers kick off their season August 30 at McMurry (TX) University in Abilene, Texas. Trinity opens its home schedule with the first of three consecutive home games on September 8, taking on Hardin-Simmons (TX) University.
