Irving, Texas - The third-ranked Trinity baseball team swept a three-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series with a 10-5 victory over the University of Dallas (TX) on Sunday.

GAME SUMMARY

After the Tigers loaded the bases to start the first inning, Dallas avoided the early deficit by retiring the next three batters, and then took advantage of a leadoff walk in the bottom of the inning to grab a 1-0 lead.

Trinity tied things up with Logan Morrison's solo homer to lead off the third, then took a 3-1 lead with Brian Cardone's two-RBI triple with two outs in the fourth.

Dallas put together three hits to get one of the runs back in the bottom of the fourth, but the Tigers got out of the inning with a 3-2 advantage.

Dallas rallied with two runs on two hits and two walks in the bottom of the seventh to cut Trinity's lead in half, then added another score in the eighth to make it a 6-5 deficit heading into the final inning.

Trinity's answer came in the form of four runs on four hits in the top of the ninth to make it a 10-5 game. With the bases loaded and two runs already in, Goodrich hit another sacrifice fly that scored two Tiger runners on the play.
