San Antonio – The top-ranked Tiger baseball team earned a 7-2 victory over NAIA school Our Lady of the Lake (TX) University on Monday night.

The Tigers finally scraped a run across on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jake Martin with one out in the fifth, but Trinity left two more runners on base to miss out another chance for a big inning.

Trinity added to its lead with two more runs in the sixth to make it a 3-0 ball game. Logan Morrison drove in the first run, then Joey Pecoraro scored on an error by Our Lady of the Lake.

A two-run homer from Martin and an RBI double from Pecoraro doubled Trinity's lead to 6-0 in the seventh, then Blake Frampton drove home another insurance run in the eighth.

Our Lady of the Lake picked up a pair of runs to break up the shutout in the top of the ninth, but Trinity held on for the win.
