San Antonio - Trinity has earned a national ranking of 16th in the final fall Learfield Sports Division III Directors’ Cup Standings.
Over 400 NCAA Division III institutions are ranked in the prestigious standings, administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). Led by Trinity’s Director of Athletics Bob King, the Tigers amassed 216.50 points based on NCAA competition.
Under the direction of Head Coach Emily Daum, Trinity's cross country teams had a successful season. Tiger women’s cross country placed 16th at the NCAA Division III Championships and won the NCAA South/Southeast Regional to amass 58.5 points in the standings. Trinity’s men’s cross country squad finished fifth at the Regional and chalked up 33 points.
Men’s soccer scored 50 points in the standings after advancing to the NCAA second round. The Tigers, led by Head Coach Paul McGinlay, finished the season with a 21-2-0 record and a #10 ranking by D3soccer.com.
The Tiger women’s soccer team also advanced to the NCAA second round, scoring 50 points in the process. Guided by Head Coach Dylan Harrison, Trinity completed the campaign with a 19-2-0 mark and a #13 ranking from D3soccer.com.
Led by Head Coach Julie Jenkins, Trinity volleyball received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and finished its slate with a 27-8 record. The Tigers scored 25 points in the Directors’ Cup Standings and were ranked 11th by the final American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Poll.
The Tigers led three of their fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) members who were ranked in the Directors’ Cup Fall Standings. Colorado College placed 55th, while Southwestern (TX) University finished in 91st place.
