Pat Johnson is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Tigers, coaching the defensive line.
Coach Johnson holds the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Army National Guard and is a medical service officer.
He has 18 years of football coaching experience, including the head coach position at Foss High School in Tacoma, Washington. Coach Johnson was also the defensive coordinator at Charlottesville High School in Charlottesville, Virginia, and at Hephzibah High School in Augusta, Georgia.
Coach Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from James Madison (VA) University in 2004. He played linebacker for the Dukes for one season and went on to receive a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from James Madison in 2005.
Coach Johnson’s wife, Nichole, is a major in the Army Nurse Corps. They have two daughters, Reagan and Avery, and a son, Patrick.
