Niaga Mitchell-Cole is an assistant coach for basketball operations. She joined the Trinity program as a graduate intern in basketball operations in October 2017. Coach Mitchell-Cole assists the coaches in event management, budget allocations, player compliance, and also mentors the Tiger players.
Mitchell-Cole earned two Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in 2016 from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her fields of study were sports, event and tourism management, as well as human resource management. She received the Master of Education from UTSA in 2018 in higher education administration.
She was a four-year starter for the Roadrunners women’s basketball team and was one of the program’s top scorers and rebounders. She was active off the court by serving as a team representative for UTSA’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Niaga has volunteered for Junior Achievement of San Antonio, the For the Kids Dance Marathon at UTSA, and for Color Me Rad.
Coach Mitchell-Cole also has served as a graduate assistant at UTSA and was the coordinator for student success at San Antonio College. She was an intern for San Antonio Sports, focusing on the 2018 NCAA Men’s Final Four, held in San Antonio..
She attended San Antonio’s Roosevelt High School and was a basketball standout. Coach Mitchell-Cole was tabbed for the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-Region IV Team and for the San Antonio Express-News Super Team.
