Meghan Lovell is in her third season as Trinity’s Associate Athletic Trainer.
Meghan brought a wealth of athletic training experience and knowledge to the Trinity campus. She worked for five years as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Meghan managed medical care for the Roadrunners’ women’s soccer team, and oversaw athletic trainers responsible for softball and women’s tennis. She also had oversight of the clinical experience for the student athletic trainers.
From 2010-2012, Meghan was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas. She assisted the director of sports medicine in injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of football players.
Meghan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education (athletic training) from the University of Kansas in 2009. Following her undergraduate studies, Meghan worked at Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas, as an assistant athletic trainer. She later gained more professional experience at Bird Physical Therapy in Lawrence, Kansas. In the home of the Jayhawks, Meghan received a Master of Science in Education (exercise science) from Kansas in 2012.
She is a member of the Texas State Athletic Trainers Association and the National Athletic Trainers Association. Meghan is also a first aid/CPR instructor.
Meghan holds numerous certifications, including structure and dry needling, the use of needles to alleviate muscle pain. She also completed the Graston Technique M1 Course, a massage treatment used to enhance range of motion.
The former Meghan McCaffrey married Matt Lovell in August 2018. The couple has a young son, Jackson.
