Winneconne, Wisconsin - The Trinity men's and women's cross country teams turned in solid performances Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational.
Head Coach Emily Daum gave her thoughts on the performance of both teams today:
"Our women ran well. They finished in the top 10 as a team with Molly taking 19th place overall. Our freshman guys had a rough race today but our top three ran great and finished within 15 seconds of each other. We also had Jacob (Hammond) back in action so I'm looking forward to seeing how things come together in the next few weeks."
The Tiger women finished in 10th place in the 6k race held at the Lake Breeze Golf Club, while Trinity's men were 18th in the 8k event.
Molly McCullough was the Tiger women's top runner, and finished 19th among more than 540 competitors.
Austin Brown finished 68th among 560 runners, pacing the Tiger men's team in the 8k race.
The event featured some of the top NCAA Division III teams in the nation. Nine men's teams, and eight of the women's squads were ranked in the top 35 nationally. The runners also had to overcome 17mph winds during the race.
The Tigers will compete in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships October 29 at Round Rock, Texas.
