Seguin, TX-Both of the Tiger teams took first place in this years DIII Texas Little State Championships.

The women finished first out of 11 teams. Their score of 27 dominated the field, with the second place team finishing a whopping 53 points back. Four of the Trinity top five had a top 10 finish as well. The top six Tigers were composed entirely of first-year runners, with Rosemary Steup leading the way. Her time of 23:28 for the 6k course puts her 10th in the Tiger all-time records. This marks her first collegiate win, as well as the fifth year in a row that a Trinity female has taken the top individual spot. Last year's winner was two-time All American Caitlin Masse, and the three prior years were won by four-time All-American Emily Loeffler. Rounding out the top five were first-years Vanessa Moreno (24:25), Maddie Murphy (24:39), Jackie Newell (25:19), and Meaghen Wedgeworth (25:47).

The men finished 1st out of 10 teams. This marks the second year in a row the men have taken the team title. The men also had four individuals in the top ten. Leading the way for the Tigers were seniors Zach Brush and Adam Cribb, who finished second and fourth respectively. Brush, a three-time All-American, finished with a time of 27:29 for the 8k course. Making his presence known was first-year Josh Carter who finished fifth overall and just 33 seconds behind Brush. The men had only a minute and seven second gap between their first and fifth runners. Rounding out the rest of the scoring members were sophomores Pancho Escobedo (28:07) and Sal Perdomo (28:37).

The Tigers are back in action next Saturday where they will compete at the UIW Invite here in San Antonio, TX.
