Madison McMahon Named SCAC Volleyball Player of the Week

San Antonio - Sophomore outside hitter Madison McMahon has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, following her performance over the past week of play.

McMahon led Trinity to a 5-0 week that included a four-match sweep at the SCAC West-Central Divisional Tournament in Jackson, Mississippi.  She tallied 76 kills and 53 dsigs for the week, as well as posting 13 total blocks (0.72/set) in the five matches.  McMahon averaged 4.22 kills/set and 2.94 digs/set, hitting .297 during the week.

It was against conference opponents that she truly shined, though, hitting .313 in the four victories, posting two double-doubles, and leading the team in kills in each match.  McMahon averaged 4.47 kills and 2.67 digs per set over the weekend, saving her best performance for Trinity's victory over seventh-ranked Colorado College on Sunday.  In that match, she had 19 kills and just five errors (40 attempts) for a hitting percentage of .350.  McMahon also had seven digs and a season-best five blocks in the win.

Trinity resumes SCAC action this weekend in Sherman, Texas, facing off against Centre College, Oglethorpe University, Sewanee: University of the South, and 18th-ranked Southwestern University.  The Tigers return home October 22-23 for the Trinity University National Invitational Tournament.
