Two Trinity Volleyball Players Earn AVCA All-Region Honors

San Antonio - Two Trinity University Tiger senior middle blockers have earned All-South Region honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Aly Hazelwood of Baytown, Texas (Barbers Hill), made the All-South Region Team. Ginger Haley of Arlington, Texas (Temple Christian), was elected as Honorable Mention.

The 6-foot Hazelwood became the second player in Tiger history to register 500 blocks in a career. This season, Hazelwood has registered 156 blocks and 315 kills. She previously made the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team.

Haley, at 5-foot-9, was an All-SCAC Second Team honoree. She has 118 blocks this season, along with 243 kills.

The Tigers (28-11) will take on national champion Emory Friday in the NCAA South Region semifinals at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
