Mackenzie Knoop
First year Mackenzie Knoop is already beginning to leave her mark on Trinity Tennis. At the fall ITA Regional Mackenzie ran through the singles draw without dropping a set. She and her partner Stephanie Williamson (Lee JC) also won the ITA Regional doubles event. Knoop advanced to the ITA National Small College Championships in Mobile, AL representing Trinity in singles and doubles. Mackenzie won her play in match against Alyssa Roberg (Whitman College) in straight sets. Knoop and Williamson lost the play-in match to the Whitman College duo of Roberg and Courtney Lawless.
Knoop drew Kendra Higgins (Chicago) first round, and lost a tough match to a very experienced veteran. Knoop played another veteran from Wisconsin-Whitewater. She gritted out a tough three setter for a chance to play for 5th or 6th place. Her next match was against Washington & Lee. She played a tough match, but came up short in the end. Overall, it was a great tournament, and we are excited to see what the spring season has in store for Mackenzie and the Women’s Team.
