#20 Trinity Women's Tennis Swept by #7 Pomona-Pitzer

Claremont, California - The twentieth-ranked Trinity women's tennis team fell 5-0 to seventh-ranked Pomona-Pitzer (CA) Colleges in the second round of the NCAA Championships.

 

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

The Sage Hens struck first in doubles competition and took the first point of the match with an 8-2 win over Mary Kaffen and Zoe Kaffen at line one.

Caroline Kutach and Cheyenne Duncan then suffered an 8-3 loss at line three, and Andrea De Leon and Marie Lutz dropped the final doubles point with an 8-1 loss at line two. 

In singles, De Leon was unable to pull out a win and fell 6-0, 6-3 at line five, and Lutz suffered the same fate at line three to give Pomona-Pitzer a 5-0 victory. The Tigers wrap up the season with an overall team record of 13-11.

Kutach will return to Claremont, California, to compete in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles Championships from May 24-26.
