Trinity Women’s Tennis Falls to Williams

Fredericksburg, Virginia- The 17th-ranked Trinity women's tennis team concluded its trip with an 8-1 loss to #2 Williams (MA) College Sunday at the University of Mary Washington.

 

MATCH SUMMARY

Trinity's only point came at #2 doubles as Liza Southwick and Mary Kaffen emerged as the winners. Marie Lutz and Zoe Kaffen lost the first line, and Caroline Kutach and Andrea De Leon fell in #3 doubles.

The top singles was a close match as Kutach won the first set and lost the other two. Lutz also won the first stanza at #2 singles and came up short in sets two and three. Zoe Kaffen played #3 singles, while Andrea De Leon was the #4 singles player. Ashley DeBauge and Cheyenne Duncan rounded out the line up at the fifth and sixth line respectively.

 

NOTABLES

The Tigers went 5-2 on their trip to Florida and Virginia and are sporting a 10-7 overall record. 

Liza Southwick and Mary Kaffen upped their doubles record to 11-4, while Caroline Kutach and Andrea De Leon suffered their first tandem loss of the season and now stand at 10-1.
