Three Tiger Women's Tennis Players Selected for SCAC All-Tournament Team

San Antonio – Three members of the Trinity Tigers women’s tennis team were named to the Southern Collegiate All-Tournament Team.

Sophomore Kassie Seger of Boise, Idaho (Bishop Kelly), made the team at No. 5 singles. Seger had a 2-0 record at last week’s tournament, played at Burns Park Tennis Center in North Little Rock, Ark.

Sophomore Katie Griffith of Spokane, Wash. (Farris); and first-year player Thavindra Ekanayake of Sri Lanka, earned recognition at No. 2 doubles, with a 2-0 record.

Trinity (12-12, 10-5 against NCAA Division III opponents), led by second-year head coach Ryan Takao, won third place at the three-day tournament. The Tigers, ranked 19th nationally, started the event with an 8-1 victory over Centre. Sewanee then edged Trinity 5-3 in the semifinals, but the Tigers bounced back to defeat Rhodes 8-1 in the third-place match.
