Lance Key will begin his eighth season as Trinity's head women's soccer coach in 2011.

Coach Key has guided the Tigers to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament six times, and to the quarterfinals twice (2005 and 2009). Trinity has also won five Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference titles (2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010) under Coach Key’s leadership.

The Tigers have chalked up a record of 106-15-10 (.847) since Coach Key took the reins in 2004. Trinity has also produced three undefeated regular-season campaigns under the direction of Coach Key.

Eight Tiger players have earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America honors under Coach Key’s tutelage. Trinity has also produced eight NSCAA Scholar-Athletes (three in 2010), and three national Capital One Academic All-Americans, as voted by College Sports Information Directors of America.

For his efforts, Coach Key has been honored four times as the SCAC Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year, winning the award for the second straight time last fall.  He was also named the NSCAA West Region Coach of the Year in 2009.

Coach Key, a former Tiger men’s player, was a three-time All-American from 1996-1999, and was named SCAC Men’s Player of the Year in 1999.

After his collegiate career, Coach Key was the only Division III player selected in the 2000 Major League Soccer draft. He played for the Colorado Rapids, starting 34 games over a two-year span.

He has been director of girls training for the Classic Elite Soccer Club, and holds an Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA.

Coach Key earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Trinity in 2000.

Owen Collie is entering his first season as the Trinity women's soccer assistant coach.  Coach Collie joins Trinity from local soccer club SA United, where he worked with teams of all age groups, in particular the girls teams. 
 
He played college soccer at the University of the Incarnate Word from 2002-2006, appearing in 57 games. The team appeared in the NCAA Division II playoffs every season he played, posting an overall record of 60-11-11 during his four years.  In addition, UIW was ranked in the top 25 each year, which includes a No. 1 national ranking during the 2004 season.
 
Following his playing career, Collie began coaching at UIW, and was the men's graduate assistant coach between 2007-2009.  Besides working with the varsity team, Coach Collie was in charge of the developmental program, and served as the Cardinal Camp Director for three years.
 
Coach Collie is a native of Aberdeen, Scotland, and received his Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management (2006), and Master's of Kinesiology (2009) at UIW.  Coach Collie was awarded the Outstanding Kinesiology Student award upon his graduation in 2009.

Paul Scheuer

Paul Scheuer will open up his fourth season as the strength and conditioning coach for the Tiger women’s soccer team in 2011.

In collaboration with Coach Key and the rest of the Trinity coaching staff, Coach Scheuer has provided additional guidance to the women’s soccer program, focusing on injury prevention first, top-notch conditioning second, and increased strength third.  His duties extend to pre-game warm-ups and cool downs, nutritional programs, athlete consultation, and off-season training.  He also prepares summer programs for returning players and incoming first-years.

A graduate of the University of Southern California, Paul Scheuer began his pursuit of strength training and conditioning in 1990.  He is the own of Body Armor - a local CrossFit and athletic training center that has been serving San Antonio since January, 2005.
