Owen Collie is entering his first season as the Trinity women's
soccer assistant coach. Coach Collie joins Trinity from local
soccer club SA United, where he worked with teams of all age
groups, in particular the girls teams.
He played college soccer at the University of the Incarnate Word
from 2002-2006, appearing in 57 games. The team appeared in the
NCAA Division II playoffs every season he played, posting an
overall record of 60-11-11 during his four years. In
addition, UIW was ranked in the top 25 each year, which includes a
No. 1 national ranking during the 2004 season.
Following his playing career, Collie began coaching at UIW, and was
the men's graduate assistant coach between 2007-2009. Besides
working with the varsity team, Coach Collie was in charge of the
developmental program, and served as the Cardinal Camp Director for
three years.
Coach Collie is a native of Aberdeen, Scotland, and received his
Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management (2006), and Master's of
Kinesiology (2009) at UIW. Coach Collie was awarded the
Outstanding Kinesiology Student award upon his graduation in
2009.
