Women's Golf Finishes Third at Schreiner Invitational

Kerrville, Texas - The Trinity Tigers women's golf team placed third Tuesday at the Schreiner Women's Fall Classic.
 
Trinity shot a final-round 357 (682 total) at the par-71, 5,842-yard Scott Schreiner Golf Course.
 
Mary Hardin-Baylor (643) won the two-round event, and host Schreiner (667) was runner-up. The Tigers finished ahead of Concordia (690), Hardin-Simmons (729), and Texas-Dallas (834).
 
Four Tiger golfers finished in the top-20, including Molly Zumbro, who shot 87 Tuesday, for a 167 total and a tie for ninth place. Madison Wallender tied for the 11th place slot, with a 90 in the second round, and a 168 total. Wallender recorded Trinity's best round, a 7-over 78, on the opening day.
 
Julia Orrange and Molly McCarthy each shot second-round 90s, and placed 15th (tie) and 18th, respectively. Orrange registered 172, and McCarthy went 175. Elise Rosmarin shot 102 (199) and finished at No. 30.
 
Kristen Cain of Mary Hardin-Baylor won the tournament, with a final-round 81, and checked in at 157. Cain's teammate, Taylor O'Rear. shot 78, and was runner-up with a 159.
 
Trinity's men and women wrap up their fall schedules by hosting the Alamo City Classic Monday, Oct. 24, and Tuesday., Oct. 25, at River Crossing Golf Club in Spring Branch, Texas.
