Two Trinity Women's Soccer Players Elected to All-America Teams

San Antonio -- Trinity University Tigers senior midfielder Jordan Azar and junior forward Abby Loar have been elected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III Women's Soccer All-America Teams.

Azar (Albuquerque, N.M./St. Pius X) made the All-America Second Team, and Loar (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) was named to the Third Team.

Only four schools, including Trinity, had multiple representatives on the prestigious teams: NCAA champion Hardin-Simmons, national runner-up Messiah, and Illinois Wesleyan.

Azar, an All-West Region and All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honoree, accounted for seven goals (one game-winner) and 11 assists during the campaign.

Loar was the Tigers' leading scorer, with 16 goals (five game-winners) and 11 assists. She was earlier named the SCAC Offensive Player of the Year, and to the All-West Region.

Trinity, led by seventh-year Head Coach Lance Key, completed the season with an 18-2-0 overall record, and was 10-0-0 in the SCAC. Trinity captured its fifth SCAC Championship under Coach Key's leadership, and 15th overall. Coach Key was honored by his peers as the SCAC Coach of the Year for the second straight time, and the fourth overall.

Coach Key guided Trinity to its sixth NCAA postseason appearance in seven years, and 16th overall.

The Tigers shut out Puget Sound 2-0 in the NCAA opening round, and were edged 2-1 by Hardin-Simmons in the second.
