Abby Loar Named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week

San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers junior forward Abby Loar has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Loar, from Littleton, Colo. (Heritage), paced the 10th-ranked Tigers to two SCAC victories last weekend. Trinity shut out Millsaps 7-0 and defeated Birmingham-Southern 3-1 in home games.

The prolific Loar totaled two goals and three assists against Millsaps, including an assist on the game-winner. Loar assisted on the game-winning goal against Birmingham-Southern, and then scored the only goal of the second half of play.

For the season, Loar leads the Tigers in goals (10) and assists (nine) in 13 games. Three of her goals have been game-winners.

Trinity, the defending conference champion, has won 11 straight games. The Tigers stand at 12-1-0 and 6-0-0 SCAC. Coming up Friday is a non-conference home game with Chapman, at 7 p.m. at the Trinity Soccer Field. The game will be played on the opening day of Trinity's Alumni Weekend.
