Women's Soccer Shuts out Dallas Friday Evening

San Antonio - Junior forward Abby Loar recorded a hat trick as the 12th-ranked Trinity Tiger women blanked the University of Dallas Crusaders 6-0 Friday night in a non-conference game at the Trinity Soccer Field.

Trinity, which won its eighth straight game, improved to 9-1-0. Dallas, which will join Trinity in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference next season, dropped to 3-5-1.
 
Loar scored her first goal in the seventh minute of the game, as junior forward Kelly Watts made her first assist of the night. Senior midfielder Jordan Azar scored an unassisted goal in the 20th minute, and Loar followed with a solo shot in the 29th.

First-year forward Shelby Guenthardt gave Trinity a 4-0 lead, with 50 seconds remaining in the first half, on an assist by first-year midfielder Tara Sparks. Loar produced her third goal, unassisted, in the 76th minute. Sophomore midfielder Samantha Atkins scored in the 83rd minute of the contest, assisted by Watts and junior midfielder Kristina Chen.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Garrett played for over 70 minutes, and made one save to earn the victory.
 
Trinity, which accounted for its sixth shutout of the season, and third in a row, outshot Dallas 35-1, and held a 14-1 advantage in shots on goal.
 
The Tigers will host Austin College in a SCAC game at noon Sunday.
