Women's Soccer Earns Shutout Victory at Southwestern
Georgetown, Texas – The 15th-ranked
Trinity Tigers women's soccer team shut out the Southwestern
Pirates 3-0 Saturday in a SCAC game at the Pirates field.
Trinity, defending conference champion, improved to 7-1-0 and 3-0-0
SCAC. The Tigers won their sixth straight game, and registered a
fourth shutout of the season.
Katy Lipscomb put the Tigers on the board, in the 26th minute, on
assists from Kelly Watts and Abby Loar. Lipscomb scored on a
one-touch pass inside the left post. In the second half, during the
65th minute, Lindsay Euers scored on a header, and was assisted by
Tara Sparks. Watts put the finishing touch on the game, in the 88th
minute, on a cross from Lauren Folkman.
Goalkeeper Katie Garrett was credited with the shutout victory, and
accounted for five saves.
Trinity outshot Southwestern 18-7.
The Tigers will host Mary Hardin-Baylor at 7 p.m. Monday at the
Trinity Soccer Field. The non-conference game was postponed from
early September because of heavy rain.
