TWO TRINITY SOCCER PLAYERS SELECTED FOR SCAC ALL-SPORTSMANSHIP TEAMS

San Antonio - Two Trinity University Tigers were selected for the second annual Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Soccer All-Sportsmanship Teams.

Senior midfielder Conner Hickey of Plano, Texas (Wylie); and sophomore forward Abby Loar of Littleton, Colo. (Heritage); made the men's and women's teams, respectively.

Each conference head coach was asked to elect one member from his or her team who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the season. The SCAC has placed a special emphasis on sportsmanship this year - asking all fans of the conference to exhibit good sportsmanship at all conference functions throughout the 2008-2009 season.

Loar earlier was selected for the All-SCAC First Team, and was the SCAC Women's Newcomer of the Year in 2008. Hickey was elected to the All-SCAC Second Team.

The Tiger women, led by head coach Lance Key, won the SCAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals. Trinity completed the year with an 18-0-1 record, after going 16-0-0 in the regular season. Trinity's men, with head coach Paul McGinlay, also won the SCAC title and advanced to the NCAA second round. The Tigers completed the campaign with a 15-2-2 record.
