Trinity Women Host NCAA Second Round Playoff Game Sunday
San Antonio - The Trinity University Tiger women's soccer will begin postseason play at home this weekend.
Trinity will host the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship second round at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Tigers, who received a first-round bye, will take on the winner of Maryville (Tenn.) (13-4-1) and Mary Washington (Va.) (12-4-5). The two teams will play a first-round game Thursday in Maryville, Tenn.
Ticket prices for Sunday's game, set by the NCAA, are $6 for general admission, $3 for students (with ID) and seniors (age 55 and over), and $2 for children under 12. Children age 2 and under will be admitted free. Tickets may purchased at the gates, which will open 90 minutes prior to the starting time.
Trinity, led by sixth-year head coach Lance Key, completed its second perfect regular season with a 16-0-0 overall record. The Tigers also won their 14th Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship - the fourth under coach Key's leadership - with an 8-0-0 mark. Coach Key will lead Trinity to its fifth NCAA postseason tournament in the past six years, and 15th overall.
The NCAA Interactive Bracket features all of the first round matchups, as well as the dates for future rounds. The NCAA Sectionals are slated for Nov. 20-22, at a site to be determined. Trinity and San Antonio Sports will serve as co-hosts of the NCAA Women's and Men's Championships Dec. 4-5 at Blossom Soccer Stadium.
