San Antonio - Trinity's Micah Weaver has been elected to the D3hoops.com Women's Team of the Week for the second occasion this season.
Recently, the Tiger senior was selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the fourth time during the campaign. Her honors stem from outstanding SCAC home games last weekend as 20th-ranked Trinity defeated Texas Lutheran University and Southwestern (TX) University.
Weaver scored a game-high 25 points in the win over Texas Lutheran. She hit 9-14 from the field, 3-3 from the free-throw line, and connected on 4-7 beyond the arc. A versatile player, Weaver also grabbed nine rebounds, shelled out three assists, and had three steals.
The following night against Southwestern, Weaver had a 27-points game, shooting 10-17 from the field and 5-9 in 3-point range. She also pulled in eight boards, accounted for eight assists, and made three steals.
This season, Weaver leads the SCAC with 19.5 points per game. She has made 51.1% of her shots, good for second in the league, and stands third in assists with an average of 3.7 per game. An aggressive player, Weaver averages 5.6 rebounds per matchup.
The Tigers stand at 16-3 overall, and are 9-1 in SCAC competition. Trinity opens its SCAC road weekend Friday night in Irving, Texas, against the University of Dallas.
