San Antonio - Trinity's Micah Weaver has earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week accolades for the fourth time this season.
The Tiger senior paced 20th-ranked Trinity to a pair of SCAC home victories last weekend. Trinity defeated Texas Lutheran University 78-66 and then beat Southwestern (TX) University 88-80.
Weaver led all players in the Texas Lutheran matchup with 25 points, while also pulling in nine rebounds. She hit 9-14 from the field, 3-3 from the charity stripe, and fired in 4-7 from 3-point range. Weaver also dished out three assists and made three steals.
She was just as effective against Southwestern, by pouring in 27 points, eight boards, eight assists and three steals. Weaver shot 10-17 from the field and 5-9 beyond the arc.
Weaver is the top scorer in the league, averaging 19.5 points per game. She is second in field goal percentage, hitting 51.1% of her shots, and is third in assists per contest at 3.7. Weaver has also accounted for 5.6 rebounds per game.
Trinity has won 11 of its last 12 games and stands at 16-3 overall and 9-1 in SCAC play. The Tigers go on the road next weekend for two conference games, starting Friday night in Irving, Texas, against the University of Dallas. Sunday afternoon's game will be played against Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
