Tiger Women's Basketball Team Plays UT in Exhibition Friday

Austin, Texas - Trinity's women's basketball team opened its season with an exhibition game at the University of Texas on Friday night.

The Tigers lost the game 132-38, after trailing 77-14 at the half in front of 1,630 fans at the Erwin Center.

Trinity's Anne Waidelich came off the bench to lead Trinity with nine points and three steals, hitting 4-8 from the field and 1-3 three-pointers. 

Abby Dietert scored eight points, while Libby Kruse added five points in 15 minutes.  Jana Tucker led the Tigers with five rebounds, while Lindsey Hovland scored four points and grabbed four boards.

Anne Marie Hartung led Texas with 26 points and 13 rebounds, hitting 9-14 from the floor and 8-10 free throws.

Trinity opens regular season play at the University of Texas-Tyler on November 20, followed by a game at University of Texas-Dallas the following day.
