Women's Basketball Set for Exhibition at University of Texas
San Antonio - Basketball season is upon us, and the Trinity Tiger women's team will open up its season with an exhibition game at the University of Texas on Friday night in Austin.
The Tiger women finished with a 17-9 overall record last year, including an 11-5 mark in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
Six seniors will be back to lead the Trinity squad in 2010-11, while Head Coach Amie Bradley is also back for her sixth season at the helm.
Coach Bradley was a four-year starter for the Texas Longhorns from 1993-97, scoring more than 1,000 points in her career, and leading the team in rebounds all four years. She helped lead the team to the Southwest Conference Championship in 1996, and was a team captain during the 1996-97 season.
Led by All-SCAC honorees Danielle Hubenak and Abby Dietert, Trinity averaged just over 70 points/game last season, and will need every bit of that in Friday's exhibition game against the Longhorns.
Earlier this semester, Coach Bradley appeared on the Longhorns Unplugged Radio Show on the Ticket 760 (AM radio), broadcast from the San Antonio Yacht Club.
Trinity opens regular season play at University of Texas-Tyler on November 20, and will not make its home debut until December 28-29 at the Trinity Christmas Classic.
