Tiger Women's Basketball Opens Las Vegas Hoopla With Victory

Las Vegas --  The undefeated Trinity University Tigers women's basketball team opened the Trip Sports Las Vegas Hoopla with a 57-42 victory over the Beloit College Buccaneers Saturday night at the Centennial Hills Community Center.

Trinity, ranked as high as No. 8 in the NCAA Division III, improved its record to 6-0. The Tigers will take on 12^th-ranked Scranton at 2 p.m. Pacific time (4 p.m. Central) on Sunday.

Tiger sophomore forward Kelsey Goodell of Portland, Ore. (Lincoln), led the team with 12 points. Sophomore guard Ali Marzella of Katy, Texas Taylor), added 10 points, hitting three 3-pointers along the way. The Tigers held a 36-24 halftime lead over the Buccaneers.

Trinity returns home Dec. 28-29 to host the Texas Challenge in Sams Gym.
