Trinity's National Champion Wildman Earns NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship

Antonio – Trinity University’s Todd Wildman of Dallas
(Jesuit), a two-time NCAA Division III Indoor national champion in
the men’s pentathlon, has been awarded a prestigious NCAA
Postgraduate Scholarship.
Wildman, who will receive a master’s degree in accounting from Trinity on May 15, became the 30th Tiger student-athlete to earn a Postgraduate Scholarship.
He plans on applying the $7,500 award to his Trinity graduate studies. Wildman said he will move to Warrensburg, Mo., and train for the decathlon at the University of Central Missouri. His NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships mark in the pentathlon qualified him for next year’s U.S. Indoor National Championships, in the heptathlon. Wildman is considering pursuing Central Missouri’s sports administration graduate program.
Wildman
repeated as the NCAA national champion in the pentathlon March 12
at Greencastle, Ind. He won the event with 3,751 points, finishing
first in the 55-meter hurdles (7.58) and the high jump (6-7
½). Wildman captured the 2009 pentathlon title at Terre
Haute, Ind., a short distance from Greencastle.
Last year, Wildman was elected a first team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Trinity’s men’s and women’s track and field teams
are led by second-year head coach David Svoboda.
