Trinity Prepares for Conference at the Tiger Twilight

San Antonio, TX- The Trinity Track and Field team had one last home meet before the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference meet this coming Friday and Saturday. Sophomore Jasmine Johnson, Senior Chass Armstrong, sophomore Justin Campbell, and freshman Justin Kah had standout performances at the Tiger Twilight meet. 

On the women's side sophomore Jasmine Johnson won the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.21. She currently sits second in the conference with her season best of 15.72 behind Rhodes' Molly Buck.

The Trinity women's 4x100m relay came in second place with a time of 50.99 behind Huston-Tillotson who won the event in 48.05.

On the men's side senior All-American Chass Armstrong won the 800m run with a time of 1:57.35. This comes just a week after he hit a school record and provisional qualifying mark in his main event, the 1500m, with a time of 3:52.75. This time currently puts him fourth in the nation.

Sophomore Justin Campbell continues to hit the NCAA provisional mark in the discus. This week he threw 47.00m, good enough for first place. His season best of 49.09m places him first in the conference and twelfth in nation. Campbell also placed third in the shot put with a throw of 12.65m.

Freshman Justin Kah had a great showing in the men's shot put placing second with a throw of 13.53m. This season best mark for Kah now places him third in the conference, bumping Depauw's Joe Donner to fourth.

Trinity heads out Wednesday night to compete at Hendrix University in Conway, Arkansas for the SCAC Championship meet. The men will be looking to defend their title, while the women are hoping to reclaim it.
