Trinity Women Third, Men Fifth at McMurry Track Meet

Abilene, Texas – The Trinity Tigers women placed third, and the men fifth Friday at the McMurry Invitational track and field meet.

Trinity’s women scored 62 points, behind first-place McMurry (272) and runner-up Hardin-Simmons (121). The University of Dallas (44.50) was fourth, Abilene Christian (41), placed fifth, Western Texas College (17) was sixth, and Sul Ross (14) finished at No. 7.

The Tiger men scored 35 points. McMurry (320) was the winner and Hardin-Simmons (100) placed second. Western Texas College (97) was third, and Sul Ross (50) came in at No. 4. Abilene Christian (32) placed sixth, and the University of Dallas (28) rounded out the meet in seventh place.

Jasmine Johnson placed second in the women’s 100-meter hurdles, with a time of 15.72 seconds. Kaileigh Byrne finished third in the 5,000 meters, clocking in at 22:32.16. In field events, Sonia Brady was the runner-up in the discus (113-5), and Rachel Brady placed second in the hammer throw (104-7).

Justin Kah placed second in the men’s shot put (44-0), and Brian Coffman was fourth in the s triple jump (41-10). Robby Buckeris was a fourth-place finisher in the hammer throw (116-1).
