Campbell Earns SCAC Field Athlete of the Week Award

San Antonio – Trinity University Tigers sophomore Justin Campbell of Victoria, Texas (Memorial), has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Campbell won the discus competition at the Trinity Open March 6, with an NCAA Division III provisional throw of 49.09 meters (161 feet, 7 inches).

The mark is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.

Last year, Campbell, an offensive lineman on the Tiger football team, earned All-America honors in the discus. He placed third at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, registering a throw of 50.18 meters (164 feet, 7 inches).

This weekend, six Tiger athletes are competing at the NCAA Indoor Championships at Greencastle, Ind. Trinity travels to Houston March 26, for the outdoor Rice Bayou Classic.
