Trinity’s Heline Wins Women’s 3-Meter Diving in Dual Meet

San Antonio - Tiger All-American Ashley Heline won the women’s 3-meter diving event in the opening day of a dual meet with the State University of New York-Fredonia Blue Devils on Thursday evening.

Heline registered a score of 510.95 on the high board, after 11 dives. Trinity All-American Katie Sheldon finished as runner-up, posting a score of 475.25. Mollie Patzke came in at No. 5 (448.85) for the Tigers, while teammate Gabriella Caglieris was sixth (402.10).

Tiger men’s diver Galve Deleste placed fifth on the 1-meter board, at 324.65. Philip Whalen was sixth, with a score of 277.85. The winner of the men’s 1-meter diving was Jeff Matter of SUNY-Fredonia, at 521.75. Arron Carlson placed second with a score of 494.00.

The meet concludes Friday, with a 3:30 p.m. starting time. Women’s 1-meter diving, and the men’s 3-meter events will be held. Trinity’s swim team also takes on Centenary College in a dual meet at 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
