Sheldon and Martin Named SCAC Divers of the Week

San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers senior Kevin Martin and sophomore Kathryn Sheldon  have been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Divers of the Week, respectively.
 
Martin (Corpus Christi, Texas/W.B. Ray High School) had excellent runner-up performances in last weekend's competition with NCAA Division II member the University of the Incarnate Word at Hixon Natatorium.
 
The 2011 SCAC Men's Diver of the Year placed second on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, with scores of 231.80 and 238.80, respectively. Martin had captured both events at the SCAC Championships last February.
 
Sheldon (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) outscored All-America teammate Ruth Hahn in the 1-meter event, with a winning score of 219.80. She followed up her victory with a second-place finish on the 3-meter board, at 197.95.
 
Trinity's swimming and diving teams travel to Midland, Texas, Saturday for a dual meet with Texas-Permian Basin.
