Trinity's NCAA Diving Champion Earns National Academic All-America Honors

San Antonio – Trinity University Tigers NCAA national women’s diving champion Hayley Emerick has been elected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America At-Large College Division Team.

Emerick, from Portland, Texas (Gregory-Portland), was selected for the Academic All-America Third Team. A rising senior, Emerick is a business administration/marketing major with a 3.66 grade point average.

Voting for the Academic All-America program is conducted nationwide by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Emerick won the NCAA Division III Women’s 3-meter Diving Championship last March in Minneapolis. Her feat followed a national title by teammate Lindsay Martin of Longview, Texas, a recent graduate, who won the 1-meter board.

Earlier, Emerick was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Female Diver of the Meet, for the third year in a row.

The Tiger men’s and women’s divers are led by eighth-year head coach Stan Randall, selected as the NCAA Division III Women’s Diving Coach of the Meet.
