Softball Coaches Welcome Three New Recruits for 2012 Season

San Antonio – The Trinity University Tigers softball program, led by head Coach Selena Collins, will have three talented recruits from Texas during the 2012 season.

Trinity had one of the most successful seasons in years during the 2011 campaign. Coach Collins guided the Tigers to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Final in her first season at the helm. The Tigers, who completed the season with a 21-24 record, advanced to the championship game for the first time since 2007.

Catcher/infielder Brittany Haby (Helotes/O'Connor) earned District 28-5A First Team honors in 2010. Haby, a member of the National Honor Society, has the highest GPA of softball players in the Northside ISD. The O'Connor Panthers are currently competing in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 5A playoffs.

Dykes finished with a team-high .436 batting average, along with swatting 37 RBI. She is also a National Honor Society member, and has been an All-State nominee.
