Trinity scored two runs in the second inning of the first game, as first-years Nicole Powers and Lindsay Weyand each collected one RBI. The Tigers blew the game open with an eight-run third inning. Trinity scored eight runs on five hits, also capitalizing on three Warrior errors. First-year first baseman Megan Russell powered a three-run double to left-center field, and then scored on a throwing error by the Midland Lutheran catcher.

Powers, from Pearland, Texas (Alvin), batted 2-3 with two RBI, and scored one run. Russell, from Fort Worth, Texas (Boswell),  accounted for three RBI. Weyand, from Allen, Texas (Allen), smacked two RBI.

First-year right-hander Sydney Friday of Sugar Land, Texas (The Kinkaid School), was the starter and earned the victory. Friday (2-3) pitched three innings and allowed no runs on two hits, striking out five batters. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Brittany Losey of Schertz, Texas (Clemens), hurled the final two innings, allowing no runs on three hits, and fanned four Midland Lutheran batters.

The Tigers took a 2-0 lead after one inning of the second game. Midland Lutheran put up a run in the second inning to cut into the lead, then scored eight runs in the fourth to take command.  The Warriors added three more in the fifth.

Russell had two RBI in the second game, and five on the day. MacPherson, from Allen (Allen), went 2-3 and scored a run. She stole a base in each game, and now is 11-11 in stolen bases attempts this season.

First-year right-hander Sarah Rabaey of Round Rock, Texas (Round Rock), was the first of three Tiger pitchers. Rabaey pitched three innings and allowed one earned run on three hits.  Sophomore right-hander Annie Clarke of Austin, Texas (Anderson), entered in the fourth inning, and took the loss. Clarke (3-1) gave up just five earned runs on nine hits, but the Warriors added seven more unearned runs in the game.

Trinity begins its SCAC schedule this weekend with a four-game series against Millsaps.  Friday's action begins with a doubleheader at 1 p.m., followed by a pair of Saturday afternoon games that being at noon.
