Jacob McMindes is the assistant coach of the Tiger men’s and women’s tennis teams.

Coach McMindes became the men’s assistant in 2009, and the women’s in 2011.

His older brother, Russell, is the Tigers head coach.

In 2011, Jacob McMindes was named the ITA West Region Men’s Assistant of the Year, a similar award received by Russell McMindes.

Coach McMindes graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word in May 2009, with a Bachelor of Science in engineering management.

He played four years for the successful Cardinal program, which competes in the NCAA Division II. During his playing career, Coach McMindes was named to the Heartland Conference First Team, and was second-team all-region in doubles. He made the Heartland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2007.

A native of San Antonio, Coach McMindes graduated from Samuel Clemens High School.

Coach McMindes is also a teaching professional at the Alamo Heights Tennis Center. He conducts s after-school clinics for McAdoo High Performance Tennis at the center.
