San Antonio - Trinity's men's tennis team had seven different players earn Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Tournament honors, after the Tigers won the conference title for the fourth consecutive season.
The Tigers went 2-0 in tournament play, sweeping both Austin College and Colorado College by final scores of 9-0. It also marks Trinity's 18th overall conference title, which is the most by one team in one sport in the SCAC era.
Senior Erick DelaFuente clinched the win in the championship match. He was selected All-Tournament in both singles and doubles, and he is the first player in SCAC history to earn the honor in doubles all four years of his career.
Sophomores Aaron Skinner, Jordan Mayer, and Charlie Curtis are all repeat selections as singles All-Tournament players. Greg Haugen earned All-Tournament in singles in 2011, as did DelaFuente. Skinner, Mayer, and Haugen also earned the honor in doubles.
Joining their teammates as All-Tournament honorees were first-year Connor Dunn, and junior transfer Nicolas Moreno. Dunn made the team in both singles and doubles, while Moreno was in doubles only.
Trinity earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs by winning the SCAC title. The Tigers will find out their opponent early next week.
