Tigers Open California Trip With Loss at Claremont
Claremont, Calif. – The 13th-ranked Trinity Tigers men’s tennis team opened its California trip with a 9-0 loss late Thursday to No. 5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
The tightest match was No. 1 singles, as Trinity sophomore Max Frey of Tulsa, Okla. (Holland Hall), batted Robbie Erani of Claremont. Erani won the match 7-6, 4-6, 7-6.
Trinity (4-6) is also ranked No. 4 in the West Region, and Claremont is No. 2.
The Tigers continue their trip Friday, by taking on ninth-ranked Carnegie-Mellon on the Claremont campus. Later in the day, Trinity plays at 17th-ranked Redlands. The Bulldogs hold a No. 3 regional ranking.
