Kelly Altman has been the assistant coach for the Tigers soccer program since 2007 after he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trinity in Communication in the spring.
A defender for the Tigers from 2001 to 2004, he played an integral role in the Tigers’ NCAA National Championship winning season in 2003. A team captain in 2004, Coach Altman contributed to the success of a squad which amassed an overall record of 79-5-2 and set and all division’s record with 43 consecutive wins.
With his collegiate soccer career complete, Coach Altman maximized his final year of athletic eligibility in 2005, as a kicker on the Tigers football team. An All-SCAC and All-South Region honoree, he was named the SCAC Special Teams Player-of-the-Year.
Along with his coaching duties at Trinity, Coach Altman is the head boy’s varsity soccer coach at San Antonio’s Central Catholic High School. Coach Altman has led the Buttons to an overall record of 62-9-3, three district titles, three straight top 10 finishes in the San Antonio Express-News’ area rankings, including the No. 1 spot in 2008 and two Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) state titles in his three seasons. For his efforts, Coach Altman was named TAPPS 5A Coach-of-the-Year across all sports.
Coach Altman holds the Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico (Albuquerque Academy), Coach Altman resides in San Antonio with his wife, Ashley, a 2007 graduate of Trinity.
