Men's Soccer Opens SCAC Weekend With Shutout Win
San Antonio - The sixth-ranked Trinity men's
soccer team had goals from nine different players in a 9-0 shutout
over the Millsaps Majors Friday night at the Trinity Soccer
Field.
Trinity, which won its third straight game, and 10th of the last
11, improved to 11-2-0 and 5-0-0 SCAC. The defending conference
champions also registered their third consecutive shutout, and
sixth overall.
Scoring the three first-half goals were Michael Micheletti, Tommy
Barros and Jordan Wade. Second-half goals were scored by Denny
Mask, Andrew Soares (who also had one assist), Aaron Olson, Josh
Adams, MJ Kawamoto, and Matt Aldrich.
Peter Philpott and Sean Cantarella each accounted for two assists.
Also dishing out assists were Kyle Porter, Zach Garcia, Nima
Naderi, Yuri Ribeiro, and CH Farmer.
Trinity ovewhelmed Millsaps 38-1 in shots, and 22-0 in shots on
goal.
The Tigers will host Birmingham-Southern at 1 p.m. Sunday in a SCAC
game. tje game was originally scheduled for 2 p.m.
