Trinity's Schardon Elected to Men's Soccer Scholar All-America Team

San Antonio -- Trinity University Tigers senior defender Chris Schardon (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) has been named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Men's Scholar All-American.
 
Schardon, a biochemistry major, was elected to the NSCAA College Division Scholar All-America Second Team.
 
Earlier, Schardon made the Scholar All-South Region Team, the All-West Region Team, the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Team, and the SCAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
 
Schardon was a key member of the Tigers defense, which allowed only 18 goals during the season (.78 per game), and 62 shots on goal (2.70 per game).
 
The Tigers, led by 20th-year Head Coach Paul McGinlay, completed the 2010 season with a 19-3-1 record, and an 11-0-0 SCAC mark. Trinity won its 14th SCAC Championship, and Coach McGinlay was elected SCAC Coach of the Year for the 12th time. The Tigers competed in their 14th NCAA Division III Tournament and advanced to the third round.
