Men's Soccer to Host NCAA Playoff Game Sunday

San Antonio - The Trinity University Tigers will open the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship tournament on its home field.

Trinity (15-1-2), led by 19th-year head coach Paul McGinlay, will host an NCAA second-round game at 6 p.m. Sunday. The Tigers, currently ranked fifth in the nation, and No. 1 in the West Region, meet the winner of Mary Hardin-Baylor (14-3-1) and Hardin-Simmons (10-2-6). The two teams play a first-round game Thursday at Mary Hardin-Baylor, in Belton, Texas.

Ticket prices for Sunday's game, set by the NCAA, are $6 for general admission, $3 for students (with ID) and seniors (age 55 and over), and $2 for children under 12. Children age 2 and under will be admitted free. Tickets may purchased at the gates, which will open at 4:30 p.m.

The NCAA Interactive Bracket has all of the tournament matchups.  The NCAA Sectionals of the 59-team tournament are slated for Nov. 20-22 at sites to be determined. Trinity and San Antonio Sports are co-hosts for the NCAA Men's and Women's Championships Dec. 4-5 at Blossom Soccer Stadium.

Trinity won its 13th Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship, and eighth in a row, with a 9-0-0 record. The Tigers advanced to their eighth consecutive NCAA postseason event, and 13th overall.

The Tigers captured the NCAA Division III Championship in 2003, and the Tigers were national runners-up in 2007.
