Tiger Men Edge Millsaps in Double-Overtime Thriller on Sunday
Jackson, Mississippi - The eighth-ranked Trinity Tigers men
edged the Millsaps Majors 3-2 in a double-overtime SCAC game Sunday
afternoon.
Trinity, the defending conference champion, improved to 8-1-2 and
3-0-0 SCAC. Millsaps now stands at 7-6-0 and 2-4-0 SCAC. Last
Friday, the Tigers tied Birmingham-Southern 1-1 in a
double-overtime SCAC game in Alabama.
Tiger senior defender Alan Llobet scored his first game-winning
goal of the season, 2:35 into the second overtime period.
First-year forward Alan Castillejos had the assist, off a throw-in
to the box.
The Tigers were down 1-2 with less than two minutes to play in the
game, including a Millsaps score on a Trinity own-goal. Then,
Trinity senior forward Ben Grossman sparked the Tigers with a goal
in the 88th minute. Grossman scored by kicking the ball into the
goal off the Millsaps’ goalkeeper’s save. Senior

to score 30 or more times in a career.
Trinity sophomore midfielder Ian Davies put the Tigers on the board
first, in the 39th minute, with an assist by junior midfielder
Tommy Barros.
The Tigers led the Majors 21-4 in shots, and held an 11-3 advantage
