Tiger Goalkeeper Patrick Johnson Named SCAC Player of the Week

San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers senior goalkeeper Patrick Johnson of Houston has been selected as the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Johnson logged over 160 minutes last weekend in Abilene, Texas - at the SCAC-ASC Challenge - leading the Tigers to two shutout wins. Trinity (4-1-0), ranked No. 25 nationally, beat host Hardin-Simmons 4-0 and UT-Dallas 1-0.

In the two contests, Johnson recorded six saves, and now has 12 for the season. The victory over UT-Dallas was Johnson's second solo shutout this year.

Trinity begins defense of its SCAC title Friday in Sherman, Texas, taking on Austin College. The Tigers travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., for a Sunday conference matchup with Colorado College.
