Hunter Taylor enters his first season as an assistant coach on the staff of the Trinity University Tigers.

Coach Taylor, a native Texan, comes to San Antonio from Washington, D.C. where he spent his last two years as a legislative staffer for Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison.  This past year, he also served as an assistant coach for the men’s team at Bishop O’Connell HS in Arlington, VA.  Under the leadership of head coach Joe Wootten, the O’Connell Knights captured the 2009-10 Virginia Independent State Championship.

Prior to working in D.C., Coach Taylor served as the head boys basketball coach at Powell Middle School in Jackson, MS where they won the school’s first City Championship in almost 10 years.  He also coached football, track, tennis, baseball and taught middle school pre-Algebra.

Coach Taylor, a native of White Oak, TX, earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Texas in 2005 and earned his Master of Arts in Education from the University of Mississippi in 2008.
